Add Health is a longitudinal study of a nationally-representative sample of adolescents who were in grades 7-12 in the United States in 1994-95. During the most recent wave of data collection (Wave VI), study participants were an average of 44 years old. To date, 30 years of survey and biological have been collected from study participants and their parents. In addition, many existing databases with information about respondents’ neighborhoods and communities have been linked to Add Health data and are available for use. Both birth records data and mortality records data are also available for subsets of Add Health participants.
The Add Health Research Design PowerPoint (Waves I-V) and the Add Health Study: Design and Accomplishments paper (Waves I-IV) provide detailed information about the study design.
