Abstract

This study examined the possible changes in racial identity for multiracial individuals over time. Using the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health) at Waves I and III, this study examined if there is significant change in chosen racial identity between these two time periods. Noting a change between Wave 1 and Wave 3, study 2 examined associations with the change, such as choice of choice of multiracial identity and physical appearance as indicated by the Intersectional Model of Multiracial Identity. This study examined the strength of association between these factors and choice of racial identity over time.
