General Requirements For Add Health Ancillary Studies
Ancillary Study investigators must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a terminal degree in their field.
- Hold a faculty appointment at an accredited academic institution; or a researcher position in a governmental agency or recognized, non-profit research organization.
- Work at one of the above-mentioned entities with an in-house Institutional Review Board that complies with applicable Federal regulations governing research involving human subjects.
- Secure IRB approval (biospecimen studies).
- By the time of data receipt, apply for and hold a current Add Health restricted-use data contract.
- Demonstrate completion of research ethics training by all research team members who will work with Add Health data.
- Commit to using the data solely for scientific research purposes.
- Commit to maintaining strict data security practices of Add Health data.
- Sign a Data Use Agreement affirming adherence to confidentiality and data protection standards.
- Agree to not use Large Language Models or other Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in managing, processing, or analyzing Add Health data.
